Posavina extends along midstream of Sava river, from the west delimited with Ukrina river and intersected with rivers Bosna, Tolisa, Tinja, Brka to Lukavac in the east.
Posavina has more than 290 kilometres of rivers, numerous bird habitats and about 170 ha of fishponds. Rivers of this region are rich in these fish: carp, catfish, silver carp, pike, pike-perch, tench, grass carp, barbel, common nase (sneep) and others. When we talk about capital catch, lets mention catfish that was caught in 2005 on the Sava River near Brčko, weighing 53 kg and 193cm in length! Posavina fishermen claim that there are catfish weighting up to 100 kg!
