The club was named by the peak Preslica, which is 341 meters high, and is located in the close proximity of Doboj city. Ecology in the name comes from the wish for actively participate in the preservation of natural environment. The club has 60 members who participate in the activities of Hiking Association of Republic of Srpska and also organises its own activities according to the yearly plan. Among others, those are:
- Hiking preschool in cooperation with the schools, in order to make this sport more popular
- Preparations and competition in mountain orienteering as the part of the First League of Hiking Association of Republic of Srpska, which has four legs
- Marking and maintenance of hiking/biking trails
- Development of mountain biking as the part of cycling section
- Activities on cleaning and preservation of nature, performed in the Doboj municipality area
- Popularisation of sport and healthy living habits
First marked hiking trail of PED „Preslica“ leads from the Doboj Railroad Station through Goransko Lake and further to the old school in Konopljišta village. That trail can also be used for the climb to the top of Gostilj, where “The Days of Tea” event takes place every September.
