The days of Tea and hiking activity of PED Preslica

Dani čaja Dani čaja Ozren

Traditional event named “The Days of Tea on Ozren” takes place every year, beginning of September. It takes place on Gostilj, one of the most beautiful peaks of Ozren and it is dedicated to picking “Trava Iva”. It is believed that it has great healing characteristics. Rich cultural and entertainment programme is also the part of this event, and in accordance with local customs, visitors will have the opportunity to drink famous tea made of “Trava Iva”. There’s popular folk saying about the tea - “Trava Iva – turns dying into living”.

This event is used by PED Preslica as the day of climb to Gostilj, when numerous hiking teams from all over the region arrive as our guests.
This was the programme for 2010:

Friday,
Hikers’ gathering at the plateau of the sport and recreation centre “Preslica”, in the afternoon hours, and erection of the camp.

Saturday,
08:00 Waking up and preparations for departure  
09:00 Start of the climb from Preslica to Gostilj                    
14:00 Arrival to the top of Gostilj
17:00 Lunch for all participants, awards ceremony, gathering

Sunday, 12th Sep. 2010
10:00-12:00 Orienteering competition – PSRS League, third leg
