Certainly the most valuable perl of the nature heritage from the National Park Sutjeska is strictly protected reserve called Perućica, one of the few remaining primeval-forests in Europe.
Ozren range is blanketed with thick forests dominated by black pine, beech and sessile oak. Besides these, a number of relic endemic species are present on many rocky, crack and rock creep locations.
Complex geographical configuration, rich vegetation and natural water flows provide conditions for variety of game species. Pheasant, quail and rabbit are all abundant in lower parts of Ozren, as well as wild duck, pigeon and dove. Roe deer, wolf, fox, marten and wild boar can be found in the higher regions of Ozren.
