Serpentinites-peridotites habitats are prone to continuous erosions and sudden landlides, in part due to intensive influence of humans. Hence the plant species and habitats on such locations are endangered to certain degree.
Annual vegetation period on Ozren is 185 days long.
It should be particularly emphasized that Ozren is very rich in mountain germander. Jovan Tucaković, PhD., a renowned world pharmacologist and researcher in the field of medicine herbs once stated: “Our people from Dinarides have unlimited confidence in healing properties of mountain germander, which was even founded on the examples of good practice …”
